Am I the only one that thinks this new plan could backfire even worse? I could see 100s of my friends and relatives getting knives for Christmas, mailed to them by Emmi. I find it hard to believe that the knife is cheaper than the miles, but I could be wrong.

There is a limit of one (1) redemption per person or household.

They learned their lesson

Here's an AAdvantage challenge - can you find the three bogus statements? Two are easy - I would think...

Miles connect brands with serious
buying power.
The AAdvantage® mile.

She knows exactly how many miles she needs to earn that dream vacation.
And she'll do whatever it takes to get there.
She'll switch grocery stores.
She'll switch dentists.
She'll lunch at a restaurant clear across town.
She'll switch phone companies.
She'll switch husbands.
She'll refinance her house.
She'll rearrange her buying habits to earn more miles.
She'll leave her three and five year old children at home unattended
She's a motivated, dedicated buying machine.
A day in the life

Because I don't recall that Kelloggs was giving away 500 miles on a purchase of $5 or less. IIRC, the best one could do was 500 miles for about $7, and even then, that didn't last particularly long.

But if 100 of my friends/family members all bought a cheese roll from me and filled out the form, they each could get one. I actually still haven't found myself a single round of cheese, but it seems like this new plan is asking for abuse if they rip off everyone that has bought the cheese.

That is unclear to me and I have sent AA a detailed e-mail raising this and other questions.

The same website also points out that AA appears to have strict policies about the conduct of promotions. AA, after all, has an obvious business interest in the good name of AAdvantage.

I am wondering how AA will feel if people start trying to redeem a coupon which says you earn AMERICAN AIRLINES AADVANTAGE miles and are told, "no, you don't."

I strongly suggest others raise the same question and do so now before the start of business Monday morning.

Well, I know that this thread has devolved into little more than speculation about every nuance of this promotion and how it went wrong, but I figured I should point out that none of us (except, perhaps, for any Emmi reps who have posted in this thread) know whether this is the method they used to pay for miles, or whether they negotiated a different deal with them for a larger quantity of miles (as is likely done with Citibank, and as was most likely done with Kelloggs).
