This company has some real problems coming. AA is not going to want the complaints from flyertalkers who will complain to them as well over the promo. You wonder what agreement AA had with the cheese company. Their website shows all dead pages on their products in a directory named AA.

This does seem to be plain and clear illegal. The only way they will get away with this is if we let them get away with it. If we hold their feet to the fire, they have no way getting out of it. How would their actions ever hold up either in court or under media scrutiny?

...

who owns Emmi by the way? is it part of some larger conglomerate?

companies have been successfully sued for much more minor offenses than this. How is this anything other than plain and simple illegal?

If you are just planning on taking yours back, then please stop discouraging the planning that we now need to do in order to get this company to honor their commitment.

There are many remedies available which might be preferable to a class action. As mentioned by another poster, there are also governmental agencies which might be interested in this matter.

Swiss Knight Fondues and Snack Wedges are made with 100% natural cheese and real milk for a naturally better taste. You’ll find dozens of ways to enjoy them – and dozens of ways to use your high-quality Swiss Army Knife. Please allow 2-3 weeks for delivery. There is a limit of one (1) redemption per person or household.
In the event that there is a dispute about the validity of the code,
you may be required to submit the actual package code to
Emmi USA for verification.

See what the website says...I have a feeling that whoever has input the codes, they have not gone anywhere and they might ask you to submit the certs by mail for verification. Also check out thier HQ website..http://www.emmi.ch/english/home/

What is going on with AAdvantage Marketing? Do they just string their food partners along like dopes? Come on, Pudding Guy's deal happened years ago and AAdvantage Marketing knows well all about Flyertalk. Why would they set up Emmi with out at least giving them some indication about what could happen? I mean, you had Dannon water last year, USA Today, Healthy Choice on and on. All promos where people where able to get large quantities of miles for what we all consider to be a bargain. I blame AAdvantage Marketing just as much or even more as Emmi. Either this is that way AAdvantage Marketing operates (unethical) or someone there needs to get fired for being an idiot.

I personally snuck the last of my codes in last night. 187 in all split between my wife and I. I am still not confident that any of these miles will post. He'll I don't even have any proof that the codes actually got through to Emmi. This is unacceptable. An that Swiss Army knife thing - how hokey an offer is that?

Dear rrgg,

Thank you for contacting EMMI USA regarding our American Airlines Promotion. Since you are purchasing each product along with the individual code, there is no limit to the number of codes you can redeem.

Enjoy our cheese...

Subject: Emmi Promotion with American Airlines

Hi,

I saw that Swiss Knight Fondue and Snack Wedges contain a code for bonus miles with American Airlines. Could you please tell me if there is a limit to the number of codes I can redeem?

Thank you!

Sincerely,
rrgg

Would anyone like to write a sample complaint letter about this that we can all send out to all of these adresses? Lets let them have some full mailboxes on Monday morning so that they can have a long hard thought about what they are doing here.

Fantastic idea--I'm jumping on a plane in a few minutes, so no time for a draft, but it should be very specific about what we know (elements contained in post #387) and what we will do (media contacts, govt. agencies as added) if they do not immediately honor the promotion.

Customer Care seems to be a company concern. They have been around a long time and will hopefully make good on this promotion.

Paul Schilt CEO of Emmiusa had this to say in a September 06 Swiss American Chamber of Commerce newsletter

excerpt from this publication - http://www.amcham.ch/chamber/content...eptember06.pdf

Paul, you must be very pleased with Emmi’s standing in the United States. Your products can be found in many local super markets. How do you want to increase Emmi’s already strong market penetration?

The success of Emmi USA is based on four pillars to support our long-term growth strategy: Product innovation, customer care, brand recognition and international outreach.

Hi Guys,

Emmi is I think owned by Gerber!!! There is no way they can get away with a fraud like this. Now there should be a race about which lawyer files the Class Action and get into process of making big bucks.

I am confident that we'll get miles or the cost of miles... A swiss Knife will be a plus in addition....I won't be happy with just getting money back.

I don't think its AA fault in any way. But they might help!!!

I'll suggest, hold your horses guys... they can't get away with this scam!!

Are you sure they are owned by Gerber? Do you have a source for that?
