AS Status on AA

I just made MVP Gold (top tier) on AS. This gets me access to free upgrades on AS. Does it get me any such access on AA?

No. Which perfectly matches the close to zero benefits that AA elites get on AS.

Nothing at all. Not even priority boarding or exit-row seat selection.

Actually, we get to board before the masses, which is (in my book) substantially more than zero.

But no... ASers don't even get that.

Interesting, since AS gives priority boarding to AA and other partner elites.

And good luck trying to partner with a mixed ticket! AS on one leg AA on another. You'd think you could use your benefits from each airline by sticking the right number in the record. Not!

Say you want to fly AS on the only nonstop from SEA to MIA, then continue on into the Caribbean on AA:

If your mixed ticket is on AA stock, you can't get advance upgrades on an AS flight. (Pet peeve).

And you can't buy it on AS stock, because AS doesn't fly into the Caribbean.

Make sure you have your AA elite card when boarding as a partner elite. Might not be mandatory, but the AS agents I've dealt with have always thanked me for having the card ready to present.

I fly a couple hundred legs a year on various airlines. I don't carry elite cards. It has NEVER been an issue for me.

Clearly none of them on BA

I have been BA Blue, Silver, and Gold. I currently boycott BA Executive because I hate 25% miles and hate the high price of awards on BA. Still didn't need my card. Ever. Except to get into their stinking lounges.

If I'm flying AA but crediting my miles to AS, my AA Platinum number doesn't show up on my boarding pass. I can either show my Platinum card and board early, or wait and board with Group 6. I carry my card so I can show it and board early.

That was my point. And as an AAdvantage member I once was asked for my card on BA to check in.
