No more 500-mile grace when redeeming awards
Greetings all.
Just thought I'd post this, though it may not affect most people.
AA, until yetserday, would allow you to have up to 500 fewer miles available in your account than are necessary to claim an award (ie you could claim a 30,000 mile award with only 29,500 miles in your account). The account would reflect a negative balance until you earned the miles back. Today I found out that it was discontinued, and AA suggests buying the miles instead.
Anyway, now y'all know what I know

Curious, was the 500 mile grace also available when redeeming the award online or only over the phone?
