Do you pick middle seat Exit or aisle regular?
On the 737.
Seat available in 14B or 8D. Which would you choose?
I'm leaning at 8D because I hate the middle but like the extra leg room.

The middle seat pax really should be entitled to both armrests, IMO.
So I'd take 14B and make it clear that all your armrests belong to me.

Unless you're reallly tall (especially in the legs) I'd go with an aisle. I hate middle seats because there's nowhere to turn if it happens that both of your seatmates are 'bothering' you. I'm 6', for reference.
Agreed. Somewhere I read, however, that 'proper' etiquette is for window to have both and middle and aisle to have their respective outer armrests. Doesn't make sense to me...

I'd go with the Aisle generally, but if its a bulkhead, I wouldnt mind

It kinda depends on how long the flight is.
I always check that the seat has a power port. In this case, both seats have power, so it's a non-factor.
If the flight is under about 600 miles, I'd choose the aisle non-exit row. Wider seat, less hassle from the FA's (asking if you're willing to sit in the exit row), sooner to get off the plane.
If over 600 miles, I'd choose the exit-row middle seat. MUCH more legroom.
Someone who is already in the exit row might get upgraded before departure. It's certainly worthwhile to check at the gate to see if either the exit row aisle or window is available.

Yeah, I'll just keep watching the exit rows as the EXPs and PLs get upgraded.
I am on the upgrade list but doubt I will get it since this is DFW-SNA and I am a lowly Gold.

I would pretty much pick any aisle or even window seat before selecting the best middle (exit row) seat any day.

Aisle any day any time. Middle exit isn't that good to over take an aisle. Plus I'd scour the seat maps to see if 14D/C got upgraded or something and gave up the seat then snag it and have the best of both worlds
