There's no standard amount--you have to read the detailed fare rules for the ticket you are considering purchasing. On international it's generally $200 (though I think I saw $300 once?) and on domestic it's generally $100 (though it's generally $50 on routes with Southwest/JetBlue competition).

I have seen everything from $30 to over $100. $200 on international fares seems common, DFW-SCL is an example.

There's also a lower fee than $30 ! $25 change fee for a flight from LGA-STL-LAS two months ago. I was very happy, cause I taught it would be more.

Also depends on originating currency. My EUR-US flights had 150 change fees.

I agree, there isn't much rhyme or reason. I just booked a SAN-BOS with a $30 change fee and there's no Southwest or JetBlue competition on that route. So it's pretty much just all over the map, though international is (much) higher than domestic.

I think the $25 fee is only for same-day changes to itinenary, whether you fly earlier or later

International B fares I use the change fee is only $30 CAD. The discount coach equivalent which is less than CAD$200 cheaper, has a change fee of CAD$200. Go figure.
