photos: LHR AA Arrivals and Cathay F lounges

As I'm at JFK for a bit waiting for my SFO flight, took the opportunity to upload some photos:

AA Arrivals Lounge at London Heathrow

Cathay First Class Lounge at London Heathrow

On my Cathay visit when they opened at 8 this morning, there were only 2 of us there. On my AA visit last week, I was the only occupant.

Great pix! Thanks, Tom!

Surprised there is not more food in the CX lounge.

Crowded and dirty

Was how I found the LHR CX lounge earlier this week when waiting for a CX flight in F. There had to be about 20 people on the F side. The flight to HKG was the 343 with only 8 F seats.

Goddam OW interlopers !

They did have a sign out that noodles, and some other dishes, were available, but as I was only there for an hour before LHR-JFK, didn't follow up on that. I was actually expecting breakfast on the JFK flight and they served dinner (very good salmon dish, with Ben and Jerry's Cherry Garcia ice cream afterwards).

Guess it helps to be standing in front of the doors when they open at 0800. I arrived at 0755 after taking the Tube out from Kings Cross. I had the place to myself the first 30 minutes.

Unfortunately my LHR-JFK flight next week leaves at 0805, so I guess I won't be seeing the inside of the CX F lounge.

Thanks for the pics !

General question: Where do you rather stay, at the BA Terrace Lounge or the CX F ?

I had the best experience with the BA's even if they're kinda crowded from time to time ! But compared to a LH-cave it's heaven on airport

Cathay is in Terminal 3, just off Duty Free in the "A" lounge zone. All of BA's lounges are in other terminals, as far as I know (I can't recall seeing one in T3). I've always been happy with the BA lounges at either LGW or LHR, and the hot showers that are available.

HERE are some photos of BA T1 F lounge from my last visit in October. All sorts of wine and liquor to choose from there.

Tom - good work with the photos and all, but I must ask... first you retire and now you think you're some doctor from Maryland with all these lounge photos from every angle. What's next? Club soda thievery? You might need some professional help soon...
