RDU Schedule Change
 

It seems that the 6am Eagle flight RDU-ORD will be discontinued this April. In the February 1 PDF timetable it is listed as being effective past April 3, but doing a schedule search on AA.com now renders nothing. :confused:

Online schedule has RDU-ORD going from 3 Eagle/3 Mainline to 1 Eagle/4 Mainline with the loss of the early morning flight on Apr 3. Since I'm almost always on that early flight, this really puts a damper on my usual Chicago connections. I'm all about less Eagle flights, but in this case I'd rather stay on Eagle if that kept the early flight.

I wonder if United is biting into AA's traffic with the new Embraer 170s they're running to Chicago. I find it humerous all you see out the Admiral Club's windows are United aircraft.

So if one wants to leave RDU at sunrise to arrive as early as possible in California, it will be DFW or possibly STL.

This is sort of similar to what happened to PHL. First, they moved the late ORD flight so that it's a difficult connection to make coming east, then they cut the 6am ORD flight, so we can't make the first bank of connections (again, they moved the second flight earlier, but still no legal connections). To make matters worse, we now see the "lovely" CR7 ORD-PHL on some legs. Oh, and did I mention that as of 4/3, they killed the late DFW flight (which I'm on almost every week - and it's FULL).

Gosh... it's hard to be an EXP at an outstation these days...
