AA Checking Fuel System on All MD-80s

Our local news (NBC 5) here in Dallas just reported that AA is checking all MD-80 aircraft after numerous pilots reported guages that showed incorrect readings for the fuel system.

Doesn't sound like a major issue, but I'm glad they're being pro-active.

Does this mean they are going to start trading them in? I hope! Can we get some Airbus 320's

Quite unlikely. Didn't AA just increase some line on their balance sheet indicating that they're shooting for 30-years on the mad dogs?

I'd take the MD-80 over an A320 any day. Fewer middle seats, and quieter up front...

Wasn't this the reason an MD80 landed at Meacham awhile back?

Not in the slightest. Issues like this pop-up from time to tiem on all aicraft types, old ones, new ones and middle age ones. What matters is that it was caught and can be rectified.
