Question $79 fares - STL to DFW/DAL - DAL but not DFW?

Ad in the local paper today trumpeting $79 fares to DFW or DAL as well as the 3 flights and get 30,000 miles.

Fares aren't showing up on AA WEB site... yet..

Now (8:45am central) DAL is show $82 but DFW is showing $120
MCI to DAL is $82 but MCI to DFW $370!!

They are up for DAL but not DFW... interesting since my paper said DFW was also included.

Seems odd to advertise $79 and offer $82 on your website. Has anybody called or e-mailed to see why the difference, and when the $79 fares will be available?

Looks like a good lowest-fare guaranteed opportunity!

I can't speak for STL, but here in DFW the advertised fares in the paper are one-way.

Ahhh, that's a tiny detail that the OP omitted. It does make a difference. I am in OGG today, not STL, so can't check the ad that pkerr referred to, but I'm sure it's the same one that's in your paper.

But now it seems odd that AA would advertise $79 one-way, and the same day put up $41 one-way fares. Makes it seem like the advertising department is working with a longer fuse than the fare-setting department, or else they don't talk to each other. The former seems more likely, and so it looks to me like the trigger for the $41 rate was a schedule full of mostly empty planes, and the decision was made pretty recently, like yesterday.
