3K Award Booking Bonus

3K Award Booking Bonus
(Sorry if I missed this, but my search found nothing)
Checking my account balance today, I see this entry:
AA.COM AWARD BOOKING BONUS 0 3,000 3,000
What the heck is that? It did not post in conjunction with any flight. I have made several award bookings lately, all online of course to beat the fees. But the only bonus for online award booking I recall was 1,000 miles, and that offer expired several months ago.
Is there a bonus offer I missed? T&C's?
Not that I'm complaining, of course...

same here. got 1,000 miles that didn't correspond with a flight. and I haven't booked award travel in years.

4K Bonus........
just noticed a 4K bonus today in my account. the only thing ive done in the past week is book 4 people on the same itinerary to DC for late september. maybe its a glitch or just a random bonus. i guess we should keep it on the DL, in case they read it and reverse them. Hell if i got the 1K bonus for all passengers I booked to travel with me. Id be inviting all my friends on my trips..

I received the same for 1,000, and so did my S/O. We did just return from a paid trip, but already received our aa.com booking bonus. But we haven't yet booked award travel. Hope AA doesn't find there is a computer glitch and take it away.

I received a 1K booking bonus on 8/15 - I thought it may be in advance of an AAVacation I booked a couple of weeks ago - have just paid the balance - although when I have booked these before they don't usually credit until after the vacation has taken place ..... so will see

I got a 3K on 8/15. I checked my kids accounts, nothing for them. I have redeemed award travel this summer - I guess related to that?

This is AA's clever way of precompensating you for their next screw up.
They've also saved you a stamp and the time it will take you to write a letter.
