AA - PAL to Manila and Cebu

This morning I read in the USA Today (Abbreviated Monday version for Europe, read it in Germany) that AA and Philippine Airlines are going to share ticketing and allow through check-ins on each other's flights.

This was posted in that little green box at the top of the Entertainment and Business page, Travel News or whatever it is called.

Now this is nice, I guess, although I am not a big traveler on Philippine Airlines. What confused me was a statement that American flies routes to both Manila and Cebu. Perhaps the statement referred to some CX codeshare?

Any opinions or clarifications out there from people who are in the know or took the time to fully read the blurb?

You missed a couple of words, though this press release is very, very poorly written. I swear at times I think the press releases are written by the freshman interns.

"American currently flies to the Philippine cities of Manila and Cebu with its oneworld Alliance partners, and offers service to more than 850 daily destinations in its global network. Philippine Airlines flies to five U.S. destinations: Los Angeles, San Francisco and Las Vegas in the continental U.S., and Honolulu and Guam in the Pacific."
