New Plat - no luggage tags ?

I recently completed the Plat challenge and received the Plat guide + AAdvantage Plat card in the mail.
However, I did NOT receive any luggage tags - will they be mailed separately or what is going on here ?

No more luggage tags for PLT for quite a while already, I'm afraid. :td:

Gold and Platinum have not received luggage tags for over two years now. Except for Million Milers.

PLT luggage tags were discontinued in February 2002. EXP tags were discontinued recently. Currently, only million milers (GLD/PLT/EXP) get luggage tags at MM milestones.

I think this was just a misunderstanding as someone only received a replacement for his lost EXP kit that does not contain luggage tags. See RIP for EXP Luggage Tags.

Then again:

I estimate that AA will save the huge sum of $100,000 annually by eliminating EXP luggage tags. Well, a penny saved, etc ...

Surely by this poin t one of our number has requlified for EXP for 2005.... perhaps someone will shed light on whether or not EXP tags are gone.

EXP luggage tags have NOT been discontinued.

Ok, my bad. EXP tags apparently still exist.

Whew. I just wiped a line of sweat from my brow. I'll be hitting EXP for the first time in a month or two. ;)

You can make your own.
Just put enclose your regular platinum card in one of those cheap plastic tages they make at trade shows. Then keep reporting your card as lost to get more.

LOL, smart idea :D

I wonder how many cards you go through before they catch on that something is amiss. :)

just to clarify...

OK, it's midnight and maybe i'm just thick.... but I just finished a PLAT challenge, AND I'm already Gold 1MM. So, which takes precedence? The fact that PLAT tags are no longer issued, or that I'm already a 1MM'r? Anyone got insight or predictions??! Will I get 'em?
