New service: Dallas-Nassau

As previously promised, Dallas-Nassau starts this summer on 10 June 2004. Daily CRJ-700 service will be open for booking on Sunday:

AA 3655 DFW 1310-1719 NAS
AA 3656 NAS 0745-1015 DFW

It is possible that, with the long layover time the plane has in Nassau, we may see one NAS-MIA-NAS r/t on an RJ instead of a prop.

How far is that flight in an RJ? and does anyone know how long it will take?

It's 1298 Statute Miles and should take 2:30 actual flight time.

No chance due to crew rest requirements ... though I'm sure the captain will be the first to volunteer to fly NAS-MIA-NAS (and spend another day in the Bahamas). Or have a relief crew that is based in NAS (now that's an idea for a LCC).

DFW-NAS is scheduled for 3:09, while NAS-DFW is scheduled for 3:30. Add in nearly 30 more minutes for boarding, and you've got almost 4 hours locked in an RJ. More if you have to wait at DFW to cross runways upon arrival. Yikes. That sucks.
