Confused on choice plus bonus

Dear AA sages,

I recently purchased a coach fare under the "choice plus" column. Among the perks is a 50% mileage bonus.

But the fare class is listed as "G." Accoring to the AAdvantage matrix, G fares earn only 50% total (as opposed to 150%).

Any insights? Most likely I am reading something wrong!

They earn 50% EQP

All flights flown on AA earn at least 100% EQM, and RDM.

Thanks. But still confused. I chose the column that offers additional miles (as well as no change fee).

But my ticket shows I am in a class with reduced eqps and a $200 change fee.

You will earn 100% redeemable miles. The bonus is a 50% bonus is exactly what it is, a bonus. It has nothing to do with your fare class. You will simply get a one time deposit of 50% the flight miles in addition to the 100% miles you earned.

Those miles are not EQM miles or EQPs. They are simply just bonus redeemable miles. The no change fee is also exactly what it is, no change fee. These are additional ticket add-ons that have nothing to do with the fare class.

The key here is to take it at face value and not overanalyze it.

as mentioned, points and miles are separate tallies. your points are reduced but miles are not.

as to fees, check the fare code and fare rule details very carefully. AA implemented the "Choice Essential" and "Choice Plus" fares not by changing the booking class (first character of fare), but instead just by tweaking the last digit. when it's 7 or 8 that's Choice Plus and fees aren't collected.

OP: To be clear, if your flight is 1500 miles long, you will earn 750 EQP, 1500 EQM, and 2250 RDM (assuming no elite bonus).
