777 Question

Hello!

After weeks of playing with the ITA matrix and hours on the phone to AA, I am about to book a fantasitc tier point run from DUB-LIH as follows:

DUB-LHR-JFK-LAX-LIH-LAX-JFK-LHR-DUB. (This includes two nice flights on the A321 transcon in First which I have heard great things about)

My Question is regarding the LHR-JFK flight (and the return JFK-LHR).

These flights (AA105 and AA106 respectively) come up as 777-200 aircraft. When I go to select seats on aa.com it appears to have 12 rows of business seats and no first class, with some rows facing forward and some backward.

Can anybody confirm whether this will be a "retrofit" 777-200 aircraft? If so are these seats decent? In either case should I stick with this or should I try and (probably painstakingly) seek out a 77W for these flights (or even a BA 744??)

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks!

The refurbished 777-223ERs you're looking at have two classes of service, Business and "Main Cabin" (economy's).

The seats get mixed reviews, though they are fully horizontal lie flat with all aisle access.

If you want First, choose a 77W or the legacy 772s, still in the majority at this time.

As AA and US operate as separate airlines at this time, we've relocated this to the proper forum. You'll find 777 (CIP) threads here. /Moderator
