LGA Closed - Runway Incident 05 Mar 2015

FAA just announced that LGA is closed until 1900 this evening (March 5th) due to the DL plane that slid off the end of the runway. Should make for a fun few days.

ATC audio for the curious: http://archive-server.liveatc.net/kl...2015-1600Z.mp3 (~3 min mark)

Edit: Title is wrong, this is happening today.

I'm betting that the LGA Centurion lounge will be packed with stranded passengers who aren't going anywhere. At least it's a good place to wait.

Interesting that on site ground observer communication indicates emergency and requests assistance...leaking fuel.
Without tower response...not judging, maybe I just didn't hear correctly...

On DL 1086, I suspect that light loading on the MD-8x nose wheel strikes again.

At a current press conference, LGA announced that they expect to reopen at 2 pm, of course without the affected runway.
