If it's in Pending mode, hold expiration is irrelevant. Your reservation will not get cancelled. It will stay in Pending mode until ticketed. If AA can't ticket it, they will contact you or you can contact them. But the reservation is not in danger of being cancelled if in Pending mode.

Got my ticket purchased last night. Had to use my CC, as PayPal didn't work. Not an issue...

Also, my fare went down $3. $204 for DFW-ORD-DSM on the inaugural isn't bad at all! Very excited!
