BEST: OGG (Maui). Those people are wonderful.

WORST (and I do mean WORST: MIA). Gate Agents are just AWFUL there. Also - this airport is just a royal pain to connect in.

Does this include gate agents?

That's funny because I've flown out of MIA several times and the flight crews have always been fantastic. Of course most of those flight were in F

Other great crews I've had were out of BOS and SAN.

Worst was probably ORD.

Not sure if they would count as AA Ground Crew, but one of my worst check-in experiences ever has been at FRA with the "extra security" screeners they have at check-in.

My home airport ORD is always great.

For ground crew,

Best: NRT

Worst: JFK

What a contrast when I fly JFK-NRT!

MIA is the worst - rude and indifferent.

I've had pretty good luck everywhere else. The check-in desk at PHX are a particularly fun group.

Howdy,

Best gate agents: SJU (hands down, they rock).

Worst gate agents: American Eagle - ORD (Not the AA folks - they are cool).

Keep the faith,

Pakse

I would agree that the Eagle gate agents at ORD can be as bad as the mainline gate agents at MIA.

The ticket agents at the F counter at JFK Term 8 (International) are very friendly but not very quick to check you in. Often only one agent is available at this position when a long line of F pax (and PLT/EXP) are waiting to check in. IMHO, gate agents at JFK are average.

From my experience, gate agents at SJC, LGB, RNO, STL (mostly), and DFW (mostly) are helpful and efficient.

Partially I think it has to do with the fact that these folks are so OVERWORKED that they can't help but be ornery. I remember hearing one gate supervisor at MIA last June complaining to a coworker that he had to work an 18-hour shift, dashing from one terminal to the next to board flights, deal with late departures, misconnecting pax, etc. Wouldn't you be a bit unfriendly after 18 hours of that type of work?

Worst ground staff: MIA, especially baggage.

Checkin at MIA also takes ages in the F line, but the agents were very helpful.

I have not flown extensively on AA, but I would have to believe Miami is the worst. The agents I've encountered there are terrible. Furthermore, it seems to be understaffed (a pervasive problem in the AA system).
