Best seats on the S80
 

Are the exit row seats 20A and 21A the best on the S80 in economy?

How does the leg room on 7A compare to the exit seats?

Actually never mind the exit row; on the S80, I find the closer to the front of the aircraft, the better, as it's further away from the rear-mounted engines and therefore quieter the further forward you go.

I think the best seat on this flying cigar tube is on the next plane out that's not an MD 80.

Personally, other than the first row, I think the First Class on the S80 is better than on the 57.

I fly 80's twice a week all year long. While there's a bit more room in the 2nd exit row, the seat width is narrower and it does get nosier back there.

My preference is any aisle in rows 8-10.

Agree with all 3 comments. You'll usually find me in 8 or 9 unless I can get up front.

I agree with PlatinumFlyer and yyzflyer. I fly mostly the S80, and I fly in FC whenever possible. If I can't fly there, then an aisle in rows 8-10 because I don't like the bulkhead. If you can't fly up front and really want extra legroom, I would pick row 7 over the exit rows because they are too far back in the plane.

I used to prefer a D seat to a B seat when we had seat blocking (sigh), but these days I'll take B over D.

Best seat on an MD-80?

Take a left at the galley instead of a right when boarding the plane!

It's an exit row seat that reclines and since it's on the 3-side, 21E is often empty. Also, there's a power port there on most aircraft.

Row 20 does not recline so if the exit row is your gig....make it 21. Seats are narrower however to accommodate the serving trays....Regards,

7D is the gem. The bulkhead doesn't extend all the way in front of you, so you have virtually unlimited room. It is supposed to be held for check-in assignment to either a handicapped person or an elite.

Lately though, I'm told that it isn't available only to find some g-d mother and her kids up there. Not infants, which I would accept needing to be in a bulkhead seat but toddlers or even pre-teens! Unless their AA elite, they need to be in the back of the plane.

Seatguru indicates that the seats in row 20 do recline. Is this incorrect or obsolete?
