DFW-SJU J Class - What to Expect

Haven't flown AA in years, but recently booked DFW-SJU in Business for myself and wife. What can I expect as far as service? Decent meal? Any IFE on these 757s, or do I need to make sure the iPad is fully charged for this 4.5 hour flight?

Class of service? Aircraft type? The less we know, the less we can be of assistance.

Expect normal domestic service - no IFE on 757 unless you luck out and a 75L is subbed, but unlikely.

You'll have a larger seat, get a normal meal, etc.

Expect Service same as Domestic F.

The Business Class to Latin America is quite similar to Domestic F. Not much more, but no less. Same seats ,a meal, free booze, etc.

You get a business seat for a relatively short flight. Why the consternation?

Ditto. We did DFW-SJU-DFW last summer. 757. Outbound on "old tan" seats. Inbound with the refurbed cabin with the new seats. Your service standards will vary of course with your crew's enthusiam during this 4.5 hours gate to gate. We had mixed bag. We got no PDB on either leg for some reason. Cocktails/nuts , hot towels, Lunch with entree choice, cookies. Standard AA domestic First fare.

You will enjoy...

Did this routing about a dozen times last year, always a nice ride-you will have a purser, some of whom devote extraordinary attention to your comfort and well-being. As stated elsewhere, drop down IFE. Meal service usually well done with juice/champagne at push-back, usual courses:
choose your entrée in advance(30 days).

Bueno Viajas!

Thanks to everyone.

Consternation? That's a little of a stretch. Just curious, so I asked.

I had similar question for my JFK - SJU trip in J. The seat map on the way out seems to show 16 seats so I'm guessing/hoping that's an international fitted plane? On the way back it has 22. I was under the impression that these planes are being refurbed; the website language seems to use a lot of progressive language "will feature"; "will have"; "will replace" and features 24 seats. http://www.aa.com/i18n/aboutUs/ourPl...p#!first-class

JFK has more of the international config 757s on rotation to certain "high end" and longer Caribbean markets (STT gets them, SJU some, for example). The flights are about 500 miles longer than MIA or DFW, and maybe they sell more J. The service is mostly like domestic, with some nicer touches (ie, shorter flights will typically have warm nuts when you'd get the pretzel package on domestic).

Domestic 757's have WIFI. This will not be true of the overwater part of the trip to SJU

Does DFW even see a 75L on a regular basis. I thought this 757 type was mostly tied to JFK and MIA.

My purser fell asleep on the jumpseat with a blanket over her once lunch service was cleared. She was MIA for at least an hour and a half.

Don't expect much and you won't be disappointed.
