Don't wash your hair the day you flied

I heard that it is not a good idea to wash your hair the day you flied. Since the hair cells opened up when u were on the air and those cells wouldn't close up right away even 5 hrs after u landed. If u wash your hair that day, u will lose a lot of hair.

I am not sure that's true or not but I heard this from flight attendants.

Are there any other things we shouldn't do the day we flied.

I think this mostly applies on the MIA-LIM route.

I think it only applies on the MIA-LIM route. In fact it only applied on that route.

But is it worse on an Airbus aircraft?

It also might be the case on a single IB flight-- but all this was years ago anyway.

Both my pedants went bald at an early age-- and they were constant washer-flyers.

FINALLY, the answer I've been looking for for the better part of the last ten years. I now know why I'm nearly bald at 36...too much washing and flying. Alas, if only I knew.

This amazing phenomenon is also limited to American Airlines aircraft -- which explains why the thread was posted on this forum.

I also hear that it is even more important not to be involved in any form of personal hygiene the day of your flight. People will keep their distance, which ought to reduce the possibility of DVT, even in short flights.

my hovercraft is full of eels.

washer-flyer pedants? it applied well, what with the altitude problem in LIM. perhaps no washing there would work too?

Not true! Also applicable on the LIT-NRT non-stop ERJ run.

Additionally, if u do wash your hair on the day u flied, u will not be permitted access to the Flag Ship L, with or without your pedants, and regardless of whether or not u r a colledge graduate.

Wouldn't the proper word be "flowned"?
