Question re: using QF points to upgrade on AA

Hi,

I am flying on an around-the-world ticket purchased from Qantas in December. The actual flight will be on AA. Can I use AA miles to upgrade this flight? If not, can I use QF miles to upgrade it? Any advice would be very helpful as this is my first time using US segments of an around the world ticket. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Thanks,
Aussiemate

If the flight is AA-operated and AA-coded, you can use AA miles to upgrade.
If the flight is AA-operated and QF-coded, you can not use AA or QF miles to upgrade.
If the flight is QF-operated and AA-coded,
you can not use AA or QF miles to upgrade.

The only flights you can use QF miles to upgrade are QF-operated and QF-coded flights.
