Also consider that AA is the standard airline used by most major entertainment cos. for guests (Late Night, Oprah, Tonight, etc...) thereby increasing the celeb usage, esp. on the LAX-JFK flights.

Since you already posted your sighting on the SW forum ...

And the sighting was on a SW flight ...

I am not very certain that this has anything to do with the AA forum ....

Actually, in my experience, you are factually incorrect.

I fly LAX-BNA regularly and I actually see more celebs, per capita, than I do on the LAX-JFK flights. (and I still see a lot on the LAX-JFK and LAX-EWR flights). Year-to-date, I've seen more than a dozen to/from BNA, and I even had a director of a very well known movie (that has since had a remake done) spill his entire drink on me as he hit it while dreaming. But clearly, the LAX-BNA flights have higher-than-most-routes of celebrities.

I suggest you take a closer look at just how big the music biz is there before rushing to judgements.

Except Oprah would be increasing it on the LAX-ORD flights . However, don't forget, I've heard from some studio friends that a bunch of the big ones have their contracts with UA, so I'm not sure if AA really gets more than they do, especially on routes like LAX-JFK and LAX-ORD.

Ok, per capita I could see it. But your original post implied total number of celebs, which I still don't think is correct. I still would contend that there are far more celebs in places like Chicago, San Francisco, Las Vegas, etc.

I am well aware of Nashville's music scene.

Musicians and related industry folks are only one part of the total "celeb" population.

It's no big deal guys, didn't mean to start an argument - my post was mainly in jest. My bad for not putting a in my post.

Yes, Oprah is in Chicago. If you watch the credits of almost any major interview/celebrity-based television show, you'll see "air transportation provided by American airlines"

Oh, and my most memorable sightings:

Sat twice (!!) next to Maria Cross BOS-LAX
Sat behind Kevin Spacey LHR-JFK

A few random AA celebrity sightings:

- sat next to Ann Richards (governor) in first class
- sat behind Hershel Walker (football) in first class
- saw DJ AM (Nicole Richie's ex) in a Chicago Admiral's Club
- sat across aisle from a Backstreet Boy (didn't know which one) in first class

I am very jealous. Unfortunately, I will never have the opportunity.

RIP, Ann.

Not sure if he counts as a real celebrity: Body By Jake, Orlando/LAX a few years ago, in first class on American Airlines.

And about a thousand others... but for some reason, he stands out. Also, Billy Carter, in the Eastern Airlines Ionosphere Lounge in Atlanta (naturally, this was while he was still alive).
