Hank Azaria and William Macy separate times in the LAX T3 AC. From what I hear the LAX AC's are great places to happen across a celebrity.</font>
The LAX AC was where my wife and I noticed that Brooke Shields was sitting behind us last week in the far back right corner of the club. Spent the whole time making calls on the the club phone, even giving out her home and mobile numbers non-discreetly.

My wife was text-messaging her co-worker at this time. The co-worker even suggested that, since we supposedly are all "equals" in the AC, we go up to Brooke and throw her for a loop by asking if she could take *our* picture! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

My husband, son & I were on our way from DFW to DEN a couple of years ago and spotted two Texas Rangers (of the baseball variety, not law enforcement) boarding in FC: Rafael Palmiero and Ivan "Pudge" Rodriguez. They, like us, were on their way to Denver for the Rangers/Rockies series. We were surprised to see them picking up their own luggage at baggage claim just like the rest of us.

Here's my list:

Ted Kennedy - on a flight to Zurich giving his aide a list of christmas presents he was to buy once in Zurich.

Ron Howard - JFK-LAX

The guy who played 'Q' on Star Trek Next Generation on a flight into Washington (who I had to show how to operate the inflight phone).

Arthur Ashe - on a flight to DCA

Katherine Helmond - on a flight from SXM (also on the earlier connector little puddle jumper from St. Barth's)

There are others I can't remember, but my all-time favorite was on Qantas (OneWorld kind of counts). This December headed LAX-SYD (a couple of weeks before the Australian Open) Venus Williams and entourage sat in the entire row 4 in F and while I was standing in the aisle during boarding (I was in row 2) a blond woman bops me on the head with her carry-on and when she turned to apologize it was Monica Seles. Interestingly they didn't acknowledge each other until we landed and were deplaning when they made some tennis small talk.

A THOUGHT TO PONDER ----

Why are we all so fascinated and awestruck with seeing celebrities? They are only human beings, eating, drinking, marrying, dying, etc...

I know this may sound hard to believe, but they even put their pants on one leg at a time, too!

Precisely. They don't eat, drink, marry, die, etc. on TV, or the big screen, but when we see them in real life, it makes us realize just how human we all are (and how much of a great equalizer Y class truly is.)

Personally, I like to think that the folks that I sit next to post to bulletin boards how handsome their seat-mate on LGB-JFK was. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

aceflyer2 Spot On!

I was only thinking that most of these people are almost unknown in Europe.

Strange isn't? People who would hardly dare walk anywhere in their countries can pass unknown and unrecognised elsewhere.

I was on eight first-class flights (JFK/LGB) over the weekend and didn't see any celebrities...9/11 jitters? Private jets? What gives?

Highlight of my 2000 was a 15 minute chat with Willie Mays in the San Francisco AC on the Thursday after Xmas. He was on his way to JFK on what had to be a very light travel day - only 3 people in the AC - since the casino he was hosting for in Atlantic City was worried about him getting stranded because of a snowstorm. Almost thought about flying to JFK with him (was going to BOS) but would have been rude.

Sat next to Jerri from Survivor on a JFK-LAX flight in J without knowing who she was. She was not thrilled about that! (Of course, she spilled her drink on herself so I wasn't too disappointed)

Mike Ditka in the G concourse AC in ORD.

Fergie on a USAir Shuttle flight from DCA to LGA.

No self-respecting celeb worthy of even B-list status would be caught dead in F on a 757 out of LGB, when there's a 767 with a P cabin and an AC (both of them the better to be seen in by his/her adoring public) at LAX, just up the road.

I am the worst at noticing Celebs on flights. On my flights JFK - LAX last Sunday some 'star' was checking in. Me, waiting in the FC line at the airport couldnt get any help because the agents were searching the flight list to see who this guy was traveling with. I finally gave up and went to another checkin line.

Who was he? I dont know. Do I care? No. He was on my flight and when he got off, he put his white hood over his head and the sun glasses came on. Of course in NY, he was walking around normal.

I guess once you get to LA, you have to put on the show.

Those are banned items and all were confiscated at security.
