Weird "AA & Partners" flag sign at JFK T8

I was walking around T8 killing some time before my wife's flight landed the other day and noticed this sign on the wall next to the premium security line. It's supposed to be a list of all the international destinations (with accompanying flags) served by AA and its partners from JFK. All of the airport codes match up to the flags except Jordan and Spain, which are listed as "FJG" and "RHU" respectively. Are these real airports? And if so, why can't I find them on Google?

Looks like a fourth-graders' social studies project. What's it doing at JFK?

Weird is right.
  1. It doesn't appear to be an official AA sign.
  2. It's missing a large number of countries. Argentina, France, Italy ... just to name a few.

This made me laugh!

Maybe the sign is quite old and those were the only countries they served? Although, Jordan seems weird.

Well the Hong Kong flag shown dates from 1990, official flag of of the Special Administrative District since the handover in 1997...

Doing some Wiki digging:

Malév Hungarian Airlines was a OW member c. 2007. That might explain Hungary.

Royal Jordanian could answer the Jordan flag, though FJG?

Spain, Iberia - RHU?

Does QF fly through the AA Terminal at JFK? I know Finnair does...

OF107/108 flys JFK<>LAX<>SYD. Qantas uses terminal 7 but the wierd poster doen't specify T8, just JFK.

As for the other acronyms

An IATA database looking says RHU and FJG don't exist.

I could see how the sign might be out of date, but what still makes no sense is that FJG and RHU aren't even close to the actual airport codes served in Jordan (AMM) and Spain (BCN or MAD). It's not a simple typo like AMN or BCJ. As Himeno discovered, these airports don't even exist. Hope they leave it up though

Must be older, as well (if they are implying BUD/ Hungary as home to a oneworld airline - which Haiti isn't - MA / Malév failed nearly two years ago (3 Feb 2012). Must have been on a "bring your kids to work" day.

As this pertains to the pre-merger American Airlines, it is being moved to that forum.

As noted in the Welcome to the New American Airlines Forum! PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING, questions and information pertaining to the existing AA or US operations should go in those forums as it will be quite some time before the two entities operate as a single airline.

Your understanding is appreciated.

Don't see Canada on the sign...and Qantas flies from T7 not T8 so why Australia (though it does refer to JFK and not T8 specifically! Wonder who put this silly sign up?

I think the flags on the margins correspond to the flags in the photo of the actual terminal in the center of the poster. That explains the weird selection of countries.
