How to get 6000 AA miles in a month?

Greetings. I am short of 6000 AA miles for an award. The reservation is already made and I need to come up with 6000 miles within a month. In addition to hotel point transfer (e.g. HHonors, Starwood), MCI and Citi AAvantage card (which I have exhausted to bring the deficit to the crrent level), are there ways to accomplish it? Thanks.

Can't you buy them from AA.

You could always take a quick mileage run to London, or a cross country trip to LAX or Seattle.

Assuming you have no elite status, RDU-XXX with XXX being someplace on the west coast should do it,if you book online and/or make an extra connection. RDU-SAN is being offered as a NetSAAver on aa.com for $198 - travel may begin after May 21 so you could do a 1-day trip (one overnight) for ~$225.00 worth of airfare. The best routing w/1 connection (thru ORD) yields ~4600 base miles so you'll need to squeeze in 1 more connection w/the booking bonus to get to 6000. If you haven't used the check-in kiosk, there's your 500 miles too. May 25-26th worked when I tried it. Miles take about 3 days to post so you'll be in just under the wire. If you're PLT or EXP you could go to someplace in the midwest if you wanted shorter flights.

The easiest and fastest way is to simply buy the 6000 miles for a total cost of $175.00 plus any taxes associated with the sale. Go to https://buyaamiles.points.com/home.jsp

Sign up for AAdvantage dining and have a huge dinner with a big group of friends and treat them and call me so I can join. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif
AAdvantage Dining has a $600 limit per meal, and you get 10 points per dollar spent. If you go with a large group you can see how many of them are willing to pay cash, pocket their cash and charge that ammount on your credit card and deposit the cash. Or if you want split it among different restaurants.

If you have a favorite restaurant or two, you could buy gift certificates NOW and use them for yourselves later. That way you get your miles by mid June but don't have to eat it all now.(not every restaurant might have gift certs, but many do). Haven't done it yet, but I think this would be a good tactic for those restaurants that only give miles on certain days. Buy your gift cert on a mileage giving day and use on a non mileage giving day.
