AA Gold Challenge

I did a search and couldn't find the answer to my question. Is there a way to enroll in the Gold Challenge but to earn Qantas points on my flights instead of AA? I'd rather get the QF points, but I'd like to get status on one of the carriers.

Thanks,
Aussiemate

I don't think so, that's why it's the AA Gold challenge. You have to earn AA miles in order to get AA status.

Howdy,

Sorry to be the second bearer of bad news for ya, but JJeffrey was right.

The challenges (GLD and PLT) are identical to posted methods of gaining status with the exceptions that you need to earn fewer Qpoints/miles/segments - but you must do it in a faster timeframe.

Keep the faith,

Actually, only points count toward a Challenge, not miles, not segments.

And the points must be earned in your AAdvantage account, but you can earn them by flying on QF, AA or any other elite-qualifying carrier.

Howdy,

I removed my message. I posted a statement of personal experience which is better left unsaid. I was a highly positive experience with AA elite levels, but knowing that AA reads the boards, I felt that perhaps some AA person might choose to change my status in light of how I got it.

Keep the faith,

Pakse

p.s. All manner of wonderful things can happen to those with patience who are kind.
