new Admiral's club at ORD?

This may not be new news for some of you, but it is to me.

I was checking in at the Admiral's Club in Chicago and spoke to Pat (CS agent). He told me there is a new Admiral's Club ready to open in the L Gate area of ORD. Apparently their waiting for enough traffic in that area to open it up.

On a side note, while I was in the AC between H6 and K6, I saw some guy unwrapping a Playboy magazine and reading it, in plain view of others. Not saying that I don't read it, but it seemed weird to me. Anyways...

If you are going to read porn in public, at least make it something interesting.

The club was very close to being ready pre 9/11, then they slowed down work. I was told by one of the AC staff back in December that the problem was that while others had been brought back from furlough, AC staff hadn't. Therefore, there was no staffing to open the club.

The club is immediately to the left when you pass through the L security gate. It wraps back around towards the ticketing area and takes up the previously unused corner up against the roadside.

I don't think it'll be a very large club, probably even smaller than the G club, but it's only meant to handle six gates (K1, L1,2,4,6,8). Given the usage of the L area, I wouldn't be at all surprised if at first it is not open all day long, but only at peak periods (say 5:30-10am and 3-8pm).
