Earning miles when one segment is cancelled

I booked a one-way trip A-B-C. After I landed in B, I got an emergency request for a client meeting in another city. So I cancelled the B-C flight and booked another ticket to meet with the client. Do I still earn miles on the A-B flight? It has been a week since I took the A-B flight and I still don't see miles posted. I am just wondering should I give AA a call or it's the policy that I don't earn miles on the A-B flight in this situation.

You're entitled to miles for the flight from A - B as long the inventory you were booked in earns miles.

Was this an AA flight or partner airline flight?
