this 20/20 new AA CS software

after reading about the new software, I decided to call AA about my husbands 20 partners. according to my calculations he has 17 posted so far. After running his acct AA says he has 19!! I am still waiting for 1 to post and I had planned to make 2 more purchases over the weekend. Can you guys look this over and tell me where they get 19 from ? I would hate to believe them and then get screwed down the line ..thanks

They came up with an extra partner for 2 of my family members as well. Have them read you the list and compare it to your records.

I did call back and spoke to someone else...They told me the same thing 19 partners so I had them go through the list. I had not counted the AOL refer a friend which they insists counts seperate from quick checkout/opinion place...and they told me about catalogcity.com summer bonus..I have never ordered anything from there, nor is it listed on the summary so he checked with the top supervisor there and he had no idea what it was so he surmised it must be one of those AOL summer maddness bonuses because there was nothing else it could be ..in any event he said it absolutely counts whatever it is and I shouldnt worry about it. so being that im waiting for cooking.com to post, thats 20 for hubby and I guess Im done!

Yes, catalog city was my extra one as well. But I received it only on 2 of 4 family members, so I can't figure it out.

lovetotravel, just call the 1-800 AAdvantace CS number.

I called about my 4 family members and was told each of us had catalogcity. I do not have any receipts or recollection of shopping thru that portal. It's weird that 3 of us have the same experience here. I can't figure it out either.

LOVETOTRAVEL: call 800 882 8880 and ask for Advantage customer service

Very heavy layoffs at AA have resulted in the Customer Service department being heavily depleated of personnel. The primary reason for depending on the software is that there are no longer staff to monitor the AA/20 and other promotions. Local print and tv media in the DFW area are full of stories of staff laid off after even 28 years. It is very sad.

I just decided to call AA to make sure I had my 20/20 in (I did mine all with travel, so I haven't had the same posting nightmares that others have, for the most part).

The guy I spoke with at Customer Service gave me a fax number that I thought I would share here. He said that if you have partners that you have had transactions with but that they have not posted yet, you can fax the following to AAdvantage to put on file should there be a problem -

your name, AAdvantage number, and copies of transactions with dates between 5/1 and 9/30 with any unposted partners (copies of tranactions would be hotel receipts, confirmation e-mails, etc.)

The fax number is:

817-963-7882

Hopefully this will allow all you last minute shoppers to now have the peace of mind you need.

For me, CatalogCity summer bonus was for the $1.00 gift certificate I ordered thru AOLAAdvantage/TravelSmith from Rockler
Woodworking and then Rockler said they would not send it out. FSCHER started the thread as $1.00 partner:
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum71/HTML/004143.html
After many complaints to CatalogCity, CatCity decided to give those who ordered the $1.00 cert. 10 points. The miles posted a couple of months later as "Catalog City Summer Bonus".

Thanks for the post techgirl. On another note..., I'm glad I called customer service since it appears that the issue of confusing "bonus miles" has reared its ugly head for me. I was counting on a Marriott certificate that included 60,000 miles as a "bonus" as a partner. It does not! But my Starwood transfer appears in the same "bonus" column and does count, go figure. My National Park donation in the bonus column counts but not my "opinion place summer offer" also in the same bonus column. I had spoken with customer service earlier this summer about this promotion and she readily agreed that she would talking to a lot of unhappy folks after this promotion ended that had mistakenly thought that had 20 partners when in fact they did not.
