Red Carpet & Premium Services for 20 year AAdvantage Anniversary

AA rolled the red carpet & Premium Services for me on my 20 year AAdvantage Anniversary.

Well, that is what my dream was about.

Can't believe how fast time has passed, 20 years being an AAdvantage member!

I hope the next 20 years in AA travel are as aadventurous as the past 20.

Congratulations - nice gesture by AA!

I've been flying AA since the mid-1940s - I think they left a fresh roll of toilet paper for me in the F cabin of AA51 last month...

I read the OP's pst as sarcastic. Perhaps I'm just cynical.

Unlike mine...

On his 25th he will be greeted by the Captain John M. Hale, Vice President - Flight, assuming he stays on with the "new American".

Cynical? About an airline? About an airline about to be taken over by a sheep-dipped America West, with Mr. Doug Parker at the helm? Removing olives from salads - that weren't nuttin'.

Cool Does anyone know the inception date of the program?

According to the AA website, my joining date is:

Member Since: Friday, May 1, 1981

That's a little over 32 years.

My lifetime Admiral's club card says member since 1975.

That's 38 years.

Wow, I can't believe how old I am. LOL

Does anyone know what date the AAdvantage program started?

My US Airways account dates from 1988 (but they don't have the exact day on the website). At some point they went from numeric account numbers to alphanumeric, so the original USAir card doesn't work.

I also have an EA/CO OnePass card from 1986 that still works when swiped in UA check-in machines.

Originally 1986, iirc. That one lapsed - I wan't paying much attention and flying more on other airlines (many no longer in existence and all before alliances), so my current account shows July 13, 1991 . I was (mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa) negligent, my fellow FTers, but now I have been redeemed. My FFP of choice was TWA, but I flew overseas more on PA than others - PA collapsed in - 1991! (For a long time in my flying career AA had limited transat and transpac offerings.)
