Except they'd have to have a narrowbody fly to/from ZQN but a widebody LAX-NAN/PPT. Physically, the route just isn't possible with the same plane no matter what plane you try at this point. LAX-PPT is 4000 miles, mostly overwater, even a 75L with load restrictions could barely, barely make that (about 200 miles longer than AA's MIA-ASU route which flies a 75L with restrictions), and no widebody can fly into or out of ZQN.

As for me, just go back to 2010 with BOS-STL/SFO/YYZ/widebody to LHR. I don't even need the earlier BOS ops, just those and I'd be a happy camper. Any MHT flights would be nice too, and PWM and PVD, but we will get those if/when the merger goes through.

SFO-SNA
SFO-SAN
SFO-HNL
SFO-HKG-DEL (DL tags BOM with AMS, so AA can do something like that too for DEL)

Here's my list. Some have already been mentioned.

Any service out of BUR (it's been pricier in recent years to fly out of Burbank, but we'll at least get BUR-PHX via the merger).

MIA-JNB
Flying OW to South Africa is near impossible for a good price (*A and DL beat it consistently). I'd even take CLT-JNB post-merger, but I think MIA would be the more profitable routing.

LAX-MSY
DL and UA both fly this nonstop and beat up AA in price.

Upgraded LAX-DEN service (AE flights now)

Not sure if USAir already flies this, but I wouldn't mind PHX-IAD.

Better presence in the LAX-Asia market. *A consistently beats OW to Japan and China while ST beats them for AU (via Virgin) and Korea.

Yes to this! Just, YES!

Although BA's LHR-JNB service really isn't that bad. I would fly through LHR just to avoid that sorry excuse of an airline called SAA.

BOS-MAD with 757 to replace Iberia
BOS-BCN with 757 and connect with Vueling flights
(BCN is one of the largest unserved non-stops out of BOS)
BOS-BER or DUS

Top it off with a QR BOS-DOH fully codeshared with AA.

MHT-MIA
MHT-LAX
MHT-DFW

I would say LAX is the least likely of the three above.

MIA-SVD (when new airport opens and will have new IATA code)
MIA-BON (if they can do RTB 1-2 weekly they can do this one)

OP mentioned MIA-SJD which is interesting - It wouldn't connect well from anything north of CLT and the O+D to MIA is only 15 PDEW. I think AA prefers to keep Pacific Mexico served from East Coast via DFW and ORD.

Why a 757?

You'll get your wish on SFO-PHL soon enough.

This is a huge hole for me.

LHR-HNL. No chance, I know. Maybe VS will look at it for a leisure route someday…
