Tito's Vodka Coming to AA (2013)

It has been reported on the UA forum that UA will be provisioning Tito's vodka starting May 1. The main reason for this change is that Absolut will no longer be produced in miniature bottles. The post also states that Glenlivet and Kahlua are also ceasing the production of miniatures.

I wonder how these changes will affect AA's liquor provisioning.

My guess is, we won't be seeing Absolut, Glenlivet, and Kahlua.

Hmmmm, now that you mention it, I could swear I saw a nip of Finlandia up front on AA last week...

Stoli would be nice, but they will probably go on the cheap.

Although someone posted in a very authoritative tone in the UA thread that production of minis is being phased out by various distilleries, I remain skeptical. Collectively, airlines around the world are very big customers. Is the liquor biz so financially healthy that they can afford to turn their backs on airlines?

I'll believe it when I see links.

Until a few years ago, South Carolina had a bizzare constitutional requirement that all mixed drinks served in bars and restaurants had to be poured from minis - no full-sized bottles were allowed:

MADD and others championed the change to permit full-sized bottles.

In addition, wouldn't hotels be big customers for minis too?

.... good to see a Texas based company supporting a Texas based business if they are in fact going with Titos.

Yes, hotel mini-bars rely on the availability of minis as well.

On the flip side, here's an article claiming that minis aren't as profitable and are a pain, yet are great marketing items:

Isn't UA considered to be a Illinois (Chicago) based company in fact? They are HQ'd there.

austin_modern = moron. Meh.

I read the "speculation" thread as AA not UA.

I've been getting Finlandia on AA recently (seems like last few weeks or so) which is a step up from Absolut IMO. I think the first time I saw it was on an AE flight two weeks ago. At the time, I thought it might be just AE but then I've seen/had it on mainline as well.
