American Airlines Adds New Nonstop Chicago-Zurich Daily Service
CHICAGO, Jan. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- American Airlines will add seasonal daily nonstop service to Zurich, Switzerland, this summer, giving Chicago travelers a second daily option from the Windy City to the world's ``Little Big City'' and to more than 20 other Swissair destinations beyond.

AA Flight 170 begins service June 1 between Chicago O'Hare and Zurich using a 155-seat Boeing 767 with AA's unique ``More Room'' configuration. American's new international configuration offers expansive first and business class cabins, and AA's exclusive roomier seats in coach. Only American offers ``More Room Throughout Coach.''

American's in-flight entertainment features Bose® noise reduction headsets and Panasonic® personal DVD players in first class, Origins® personal amenity kits, upgraded pillows and blankets, personal reading lights and electronic seat controls in first class. American is also the industry leader in providing A/C powerports in first and business class and selected rows in coach. All these extras customers have come to expect from American.

American's Chicago-Zurich seasonal service continues through October. It complements AA's existing daily year-round codeshared service from Chicago with Swissair. American also operates a daily non-stop flight from Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport to Zurich.

``With this service American customers now have two non-stop options from Chicago and one non-stop service from Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, all with the comfort and amenities that make American and its codeshare partner Swissair a terrific choice for business and leisure travel to Switzerland and beyond,'' said Mike Gunn, executive vice president of marketing for American. We are now in a position to satisfy the strong demand for an additional summer service between Chicago and Zurich.``

For EP's this is great news.

AA metal into BRU and ZRH is critical because VIP2's aren't valid on code-shares, and most of AA's european reach is via code-share flights with Sabena from BRU and SwissAir from ZRH. At least with these flights, we can upgrade over the water...

It is great news. Too bad it's only seasonal, however, as it'll stop just before I have a reason to fly the route in November. Because of the VIP2 issues and the EUR00 (and it's predecessors/successors) bonus being restricted to AA metal, I'm not inclined to fly the SR code share.
