If I have an AA award ticket and I show my Diamond Cathay Pacific card, do I have diamond benefits? extra bags? kgs/lbs ?

As you are oneworld Emerald, you should have those perquisites recognized by Cathay Pacific.

But I will be traveling in American Airlines, with AAdvatage award ticket.

is it the same? just show the card and got the benefits ?

I know the privileges, my question if I can use them with a non Cathay pacific award issued by american airlines, in an American airlines flight.

Again, these apply for Oneworld Emeralds flying on Oneworld flights. That's all that should matter.

Yesterday I call Cathay and got an AA award ticket on Economy from MVD to MIA
I forgot to ask cathay lady about the baggage allowance (I´m cathay diamond / oneworld emerald).

On the email I got with the eticket its wasnt clear as it says 2 32 KG bags and at the same time 2 23KG bags.

I went to an AA office a block from here first the lady who was there told me that I have only one 23 KG bag, and told her that I was EMERLAD and she told me that she thinks I have one more for free...

After that vague answer I show her the email from cathay with the eticket that says 32 KG also.... one guy that was in the next computer told her, I think he can take 3 bags of 32....

so at that moment we were with 3 theories
2 23 bags
2 32 bags
3 32 bags

She told me that I can ask at the moment of the checking at the airport about the situation, I told her that I didnt want to do that as I know that will be a trouble.

She called BAGGAGE area of AA and they put on hold for over 35 minutes, while she told me my cathay number at the reservation was not Diamond or EMERALD, I show the card and was expired, finally I show my account at the iphone that shows it was renewed correctly and expires on feb 2014....

After waiting... she told me.

You can take 3 32KG bags, our manager put this on the reservation notes.. I ask her if she was sure.. and she says yes.

The problem is that I done a research and oneworld emerald only give one extra bag... and in this economy ticket only one bag is allowed... so it should be 2 23KG bags.

Can be this possible to have 3 32KG bags for my award ticket?
Have anyone a similar expirience?

Finally its confirmed

OneWorld on International flight MVD MIA with AA
3 Bags 32 KG.

After many calls to AA they documented on the ticket.
