Seville to US

Will be returning from Seville in April using AA. Does anyone know of a partner route that would accomplish that with out being routed through PMI. Everything I can come up with online sends you there, which really seems out of the way. I would not mind going through any other city. Thanks

It might help if you tell us where in the states you are trying to get to.

Not sure why you couldn't fly Iberia to Madrid and then either Iberia or American to the US.

This. Also, PMI isn't that much out of the way on a TATL itinerary - it's likely routing you through there because of BA or something.

From Sevilla, you will likely need to fly IB, BA or AB if you want to fly on a OneWorld connecting flight. For the TATL portion, you can fly on AA metal or one of the codeshares with IB/BA/AB depending on where your final destination in the US will be. That means you will likely connect in MAD, LHR or PMI/DUS.

To see some possibilities, try the oneworld interactive route map here.

When you say "online," do you mean that you are searching for award availability on aa.com? If so, you won't ever find Iberia flights there. You have to call, or use another airline's search engine, such as BA's.

exactly. What you see "online" on aa.com when searching for awards availability is AB flights only, and they have a large hub in PMI and will route traffic through there.
Call AA and they'll give you plenty of options on IB via BCN or MAD, connecting to all AA hubs in the US directly or through LHR.

We were just in Sevilla. Why not take just take the 2 hour high speed AVE train to Atocha and then a 20 minute taxi to MAD? Easy.
If you don't want the train, just fly LCC Vueling to BCN.
