Can I plug an ipad into 777 powerport using a cigar-lighter adapter?

I have a "cigar-lighter to USB" adapter. Using this, can I plug an ipad direct into a 777 powerport? It works on a 12v car, but on a 777 they seem to deliver 15v.

I did not bring my Kensington power adapter with me...

Thanks all.

Depends on the spec of the adapter you have there.

The one I use is rated for up to 18V so works just fine on the 777

Yep. Just did on Tuesday and it charged it very well. I was using a free 1amp USB cigarette adaptor.

Many thanks everyone. Now let's hope the USB cable is long enough....
