AA & One World Alliance

Why doesn't BA honor an award trip originating with AA?

Sure..we are flying NCE/LDN/JFK/DCA in Sept 2013. We are using miles for a business class seat. BA flys the NCE/LDN leg and won't give us an award seat. In fact the best connections are on a BA flight direct but they won't take an AA award ticket. Yuck on the One World Alliance.

Welcome to FT*, but your problem still isn't entirely clear.

"won't give us an award seat" suggests there is no availability for that leg? Surely it is not BA's responsibility to open up award availability at every FFs convenience?

Also, what does 'won't take an AA award ticket' mean? You can definitely fly on BA with AA miles, but need to pay YQ, which for TATL economy redemptions, are a total waste.

Did you mean LHR? I don't believe that BA operates any scheduled service between Nice and Nepal.

Likely a situation where the OP is trying to confirm an award ticket on a date/dates that space is not available. As we all know, if BA has award space available, one can use their AA miles and book the seat.
