Similarly, I just logged in and saw 10K miles credited on about 300K miles of redemptions a month or so ago. Hey, don't look a gift horse in the mouth.

Got 6,750 miles on a CX redemption last month. Flight was booked April 7 and flown on April 18. That was fast!

Dynamic Miles Qualify??

Does anyone know if Dynamic miles redemptions qualify for the 10% bonus? I booked a flight on April 17...still early, but no credit yet.

Call me clueless, but what is the point, really...?? AA wants us to redeem miles?? They want us to have a Citi card??

My problem is the award travel was booked in March, so no bonus for me, though I have the Citi card. It's not going to inspire me to book more award travel, msotly because awards are SO hard to come by! (Saavers, anyway...)

On the other hand, with awards increasingly hard to come by I am very tempted to dump my miles (i.e. use them up, instead of hoarding for vacation).

Got my 10,000 for the year from a redemption on April 5. Hope the benefit is still around next year!

I booked a 17,500 mile award in January of this year and I've had the Citi card for over a year. Just for the heck of it I sent a secure message to Citi on their website and asked if I could have the 10% discount retroactively, and they said no. Oh well.

Anyone get the 10% discount retroactively for a booking made before April 1 of this year?

Another Data Point

I booked four (4) 25,000 mile award tickets on April 30. Just checked my account and saw CITI 10% AWARD RDMPTION BONUS for 10,000 miles with a date of April 30. I'm pretty sure it wasn't posted on that date, but still faster than I expected ^

I hadn't check my account activity recently, but I noticed on 4/27/12 that 10,000 bonus miles posted (from the citi 10% promo). I had redeemed miles for both hotels and award travel--I wasn't certain the hotel miles would count--but. apparently they did.^

Changed a one way award from coach to first for two the day of departure <may 4> and got 7500 miles credited. Would not have happened otherwise as the april 25 one way award was not included.
Both one way awards were originally booked prior to April.
Guess I will have to wait till my next award to get the remaining 2500
Either way, a very nice "surprise transaction"

Same here. Booked flights for 100,000 miles 30 days ago and got a surprise 10k yesterday. very nice^

ItsAllRelative May 10, 2012 3:51 pm

I see 2 lines - one for rebate and another for the extra mile for using my AA credit card to pay for the taxes & fees.

CITI 10% AWARD RDMPTION BONUS 10,000
CITI AA PURCH 2ND MI. BNS 119

That's 10,119 more miles earned for something I used to get 0 extra miles for. Not alot, but not bad.

How quickly does 10% Citibank miles rebate post?

I was a 1000 miles short for four tickets to LGA so I went ahead and purchased three yesterday and put the 4th on hold hoping to get the rebate soon. Is it possible it will post within 3 days?

Thumper May 12, 2012 8:58 am

Try this thread.

The first half is simple griping about how fast (or slow) we will get our something for nothing,
the second half reports on speed of delivery, which is pretty good.

Booked an award ticket 4/26 and the miles showed up on 5/9 (but were dated back to 4/26). Honestly, I'm shocked.. very nice turnaround!

blakepilot May 12, 2012 10:12 am

I had 10,000 post on 5/5. I gamed the system a bit and got an award refunded, then reissued to qualify for this promo.
