When they take away my upgrade due to an equipment swap, I at least feel entitled to ask the GA to help me end up in a row with an empty middle and a movable armrest.

On Flight 20, no problems or issues to report. Another smooth flight on a 762...

- on 12MAY AA12 (SFOJFK 0945 departure) went out as a tired 757.
- on 13MAY AA16 (SFOJFK 1245 departure) went out as a 757 (unknown interior).
- on 14MAY AA18 (SFOJFK 2235 departure) went out as a tired 757.
- on 15MAY AA20 (SFOJFK 1500 departure) went out as a tired 757.
- on 16MAY AA20 (SFOJFK 1500 departure) went out as a tired 757.
- on 17MAY AA20 (SFOJFK 1500 departure) went out as a renovated (!) 757
- on 18MAY no substitutions
- on 19MAY no substitutions
- on 20MAY no substitutions
- on 21MAY no substitutions

Does anyone know if the Samsung tablets are available in F when these subs occur?

No substitution for flight 17 last night, but we did have a fun 2.5 hour mechanical delay and a 1:20 a.m. arrival.

Honestly, I'm surprised you guys in LAX/NYC/SFO tolerate these aircraft. They happen to be the oldest fleet type in the AA fleet and it shows. I just flew on one to JFK the other day in F and was quite disappointed with the condition of the interior. The footrest on the floor was duck taped together, massage function was broken, and 1990s airphone was missing retraction cord and hastily mounted in holster.

Some of us look forward to the being in the front two cabins on these old birds.
The business class seat has decent recline and I find that I can sleep better on these old school craddle seats better than the slant bed NGBC seats.
With 2 center aisle seats in Business, one has direct aisle access without someone climbing over you.
Service is usually pretty good, and the meals service--dinner especially, is pretty good if you can avoid the three cheese pasta.
I'd prefer a built in seat IFE, but the Samsung tablet they lend you is a fair substitute--although there is that delay for distribution and the annoying 1 hour before landing collection.
I've never saw a massage function a la United's seat, though.
Compared to flying transcon in a B757, 737 or other single aisle aircraft, this is much better.
And just as when I ride Amtrak, I test seat functions pre departure to see if I have a fully operable seat prior to push back. On one or two occassions I've had the seat repaired prior to push back.

I don't see 3 class staying on these routes as the 762s are retired, if only because of the SAG contract shifting to only business class being required. That's why UA is going 2 class with all lie-flat on p.s.

Also, the entertainment industry's travel has nothing to do with equipment used on SFO routes.

JFK-LAX is dropping to 9 flights a day (from 10) and the earliest is now 8am, which misses a number of LAX connections in the AM making for a longer day. Why did AA do this? I was flying JFK-LAX-SBA and now the earliest they I can get there is 3pm - I need to look for other options.

I looked ahead and didn't notice anything.
