That's nice, but still incorrect. The information is available freely at the aforementioned URL. As usual, no KVS required.

In KVS' defence, the earlier sentence you quoted was him answering that only the KVS Tool is able to view EY award availability, in response to a Q specifically regarding the capabilities of the KVS Tool vs. the KVS web/mobile companions.

He was not stating that only the KVS Tool is able to view EY award availability generally.

I am quite satisfied with what KVS offers me -not just for EY, but in general.
Although I still have a lot to learn.
Everyone has the option to pay for that service - or not.

There is only an option if you know what the alternate choices are. Since KVS isn't/wasn't forthcoming about where the data comes from, that can be a problem. This is why I posted the link to the EY website that shows the data KVS is scraping from, since he didn't feel like volunteering it. Now you have a choice.

I'm a gold member in AA and have around 40k miles in account.

How do I need to book my ticket to HYD from ORD thru etihad
As I'm seeing only ORD-AUH is codeshared.
How to get all the miles to my AA account.
or can I redeem miles and how to pay the extra amount fro fare

Welcome to FT!

Please read the stickies of the AA forum to familiarize yourself with the program in general.
Look at http://www.aa.com/i18n/AAdvantage/ea...lines/main.jsp for partner list.
There is also a thread dedicated to just the kind of awards you are considering: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/ameri...ld-awards.html. I'd suggest posting further and more specific questions there.

To book most tickets using AA miles, you have to call AA. Don't worry about codeshares: AA is able to book normal partner flights and can also string together an award with flights from different partners. So, for example, you can go HYD-ORD on various combinations of Jet Airways, AA, Etihad, Gulf Air, Finnair, Royal Jordaninan, etc. The Pacific route is not allowed on India-USA awards, otherwise Japan Airlines and Cathay Pacific are also AA's partners.

You need 45K AA miles for a 1-way economy ticket from anywhere in India to anywhere in the USA. If Chicago is your gateway North American city, ie the first NA city you land in, then you are allowed a stopover here which can be several months long, and people use that to book a free 1-way flight later to anywhere in NA (including Hawaii). Otherwise stopovers are not permitted, but connections can be up to 24 hours and people use those as mini-stopovers of sorts; not enough to explore a city but good for some rest and to get an idea.

All the miles have to be in one account. You can't mix accounts. You can also not mix miles and cash. So, depending on what you meant by "around 40K", you are certainly close, but may or may not have enough miles for a HYD-ORD award.

Try to avoid BA flights whenever possible due to steep "fuel surcharge" levied on their flights. Paying those surcharges on economy awards is a waste of miles and money; you'd be better off buying a cash ticket and earning miles.

Good luck.

You cannot book a codeshare using AA miles (with 1 exception not applicable to a USA -> India redemption).

completed JFK-AUH last night, amazing !
the best I ever experienced in F. seat, service, plane, everything.

spent the night in the first class lounge, yes it is open 24hrs and they let you in to the First Lounge even if you depart in J. (just need to show your F incoming flight boarding pass)

went to terminal 3 and 1 lounges. Terminal 3 is better but both nice.

took a lot of pictures, will post soon.
