Lots and lots and lots of T&Cs, including:

the promotion code entitles the user to a $100 flight discount on a published round-trip or one-way fare of $250 or more to any American Airlines destination, excluding codeshare flights, when purchased on AA.com between 8/18/11 and 9/5/11, and for travel between 9/6/11 and 2/16/12.

Travel is not available on the following embargo dates: 11/18/11 - 11/23/11, 11/26/11 - 11/28/11, 12/16/11 - 12/23/11, 12/26/11 - 12/31/11 and 1/1/12 - 1/4/12. The $100 promotion code cannot be used for travel on the embargo dates detailed above.

The $100 promotion code requires instant or future purchase and may not be applied to previous reservations or reservations placed on hold. The discount will not be applied to any government or airport imposed taxes, fees or charges.

Only one promotion code may be used per reservation, for up to six people in the reservation.

Travel is valid from US48 to any American Airlines destination on American Airlines, American Eagle or the AmericanConnection® carrier.

I got mine.

This is nice. I am tired of seeing giant sign-up bonuses for new cardholders after I have been a loyal cardholder for 25+ years.

This is something for those who already have a card. Excellent.

I don't see anything here really out of the ordinary T&C's for a typical AA promo.

I'm not fluent in legalese. Does that mean one code can be applied six times to six different people so long as it's purchased as part of one reservation (i.e. $600 discount)? Or that six people will get $100 taken off their total (i.e. $16 discount per person)?

Oh, and big thanks to AA. I'm a fan of this promo!

Its generous, but not that generous, I will guess it is $100 for the total, I may be wrong.

Is this code specific to the card owner's itinerary. The same person that owns the card has to use the code for an itinerary in their name?

Or can the card owner gift the code (but then the card owner has to use the credit card to pay)?

Promotion over already!

I apparently just missed it!
Just an hour after the first post here on FlyerTalk, I tried registering for the discount and was denied.
AAdvantage just posted on Facebook that the promotion is already over.
That was quick!

Codes are all gone. They lasted about an hour.

I'm really glad I spent the $9.95 for the Gogo session today, that paid for itself 10 times over.

I think that it's reasonably generous for $100 off a $250 flight?

Anyway it's closed now:

Today’s promotion for Citi® / AAdvantage® credit cardmembers is now over. Congratulations to everyone who received the flight discounts – where will you go?
