... sure would be nice if they would announce the rules before they just start tinkering with the site. People might not know exactly how it affects them until the data is shown, but it'd save us from trying to infer things from random bits of cruft on different versions of the site. 
(& I think that once they start throwing random stuff on sites people check regularly, it's reasonable to expect that it will cause some speculation.)
Personally, I'd hoped to make it a bit further before changes hit, but I undersand why AA would see the need.

Anyone care to wager how long it will take for this thread to hit 10 pages? The smart money says by 3pm today. 
As another datapoint, I can see the milion miler link referenced by the OP but I have no additional columns or numbers as others are reporting.

Not even close here (at around 400k, started last year), but there are still a lot of questions about what will count obviously. If they count bonus RDM and promos it is still well within reach for EXPs that qualify on eqm.

When I called CS about LT Plat 2 months ago, they emphasized they have team meetings announcing any changes to the AAdvantage program. She said AAdvantage members get 60 days notice, CS reps get 90 days.
When I pointed out MM status was unofficial , CS rep was very confident the above timeframe would apply anyway.

Based on past history, it's entirely possible that the IT geniuses have accidentally gone live with a piece of code that is still under development. It wouldn't be the first time.
