In Illinois there is no alcohol sales allowed before noon on Sunday. AC -purchased. FC- complimentary which would explain the difference.

The ladies in the FL speculated that, while the concourse was serving, they had to wait due it's classification as a private club.

USED to be true at ORD. In July 2010 the City Council passed a law allowing 24/7 booze sales at O'Hare, much to the consternation of the Temperance Union and my Mom.

But since the well brands are free, why can't they give away the free stuff? Or is the issue only with the premium brands?

I'm sorry you think I was whining in my OP, cause I wasn't. NOW I am. WHINE. Rather than choose to be a DYKWIA-type and cause a fuss, I left and got PLENTY liquored up in the concourse (knowing that the AA flight would be woefully understocked) on my own dime. Next time I'm gonna hook up w/ Spiff in the SkyClub! Spiff sounds like a fun person, unlike a few of the whelks on this fora. Put that coupon to good use, Spiff?
PS BRP - next time you're in the ORD AC on a Sunday at 10:55 let me know. I'll buy the first round if you buy the second.

You forgot to post some nebulous ultimatum about changing airlines if they don't resolve the issue as quickly as you think they should. Don't forget to demand compensation for customer service.

Too far to lug my booze-seeking bulk. But thanks! The SkyClub is MUCH better than the AA AC. Seats more comfy, better free booze selection, the cheese is aged longer, windows are cleaner, and I enjoy the hourly burlesque shows. Oh WHEN is AA gonna catch up to the 'majors'???

ding ding ding ding ding we have a winner! I'd like to buy you a drink. Preferably Sunday morning at the AC before 11 am. Virgin Mary, perhaps? I am a little curious (cynical) as to whether they do understand or chose to pretend to not understand to save a few bucks and/or some hassle.

Also, Fort Lauderdale now allows booze sales 7:00AM on Sunday including the Airport. That was just changed last week.

I don't believe this is the case unless there was a statewide law passed in the last 5 years. Alcohol sales have always been a local issue, so it would be a City of Chicago ordinance. For instance, Champaign started allowing alcohol sales on Sunday at 6am in 2002 because of the Chicago Bears playing there while Soldier Field was being renovated.

Just because the AC can legally serve 24/7, doesn't mean they have to have all bars open at all times the club is open.

I can confirm that a few months ago, the FL at ORD would not serve or make available any booze until noon on Sunday, while a bar in the same terminal about 100 yards down the same concourse had been serving booze since they opened at 7AM.
