best car rental program for AA miles

I searched the site, but couldn't find anything recent.
I need a car for approximately 24 hours in Minneapolis in a few weeks.

Thanks for the help!

All mine have been going to Southwest lately. I have been getting 2 credits for cheap 2 day weekend rentals. My last couple were $33 dollars total. 8 of those equals a free WN roundtrip.

Although what I might say could be construed as heresy on this board, but just look at all available options regardless of miles if you are paying for this out of pocket. In LAS a month ago I went with this small no name rental company and instead of getting 500 miles I saved about $100. Just check all prices to make sure the bonus miles might be worth the possible added cost of the big name rental company

Be careful that many insurance companies (including all that come with credit card) don't cover if you rent a car for over 30 days, and I think I also remember reading that they won't give you frequent flier points either. 30 days has some meaning to it.

Suggest you look into this issue. If it's still there, plan swapping cars every 30 or less days between two car companies (don't re-rent from the same company on the same day as I'm sure insurance cos see through it) or leaving a day (or 24 hours?) between return and re-rental.
