2010 Race to PLT / EXP

Hopefully not a duplicate. Wanting to see how fast folks get to requal in 2010 for PLT & EXP. No wagers on me, as my schedule doesn't front load it. I'm just curious to see when the first person hits 100seg/100KEQM/100KEQP in 2010.

Ready, set, go.

shouldnt your post say 2011? most of us here already qualified awhile ago for elite status through 2010

btw, the post should be posted Feb. 28, for when the next EQY begins (March1) to my knowledge

Qualification year is from Jan. 1 - Dec. 31.
Membership year ends at the end of February.

Either way, this really is a "ready, set, wait" since requalification efforts will not start until Jan. 1.

EDIT:
Gamecock beat me to it

EQY starts on Jan 1, so it is possible (and certainly not unheard of) for someone to qualify/requalify for status well before March 1.

And I am already off the mark with several cheap NYC/West Coast flights (LGA/DFW/LAX/JFK now going for $198++), a cheap flight to SJU for a few days in February (yes warm) and a few more cheap flights to ORD, OKC, MSP, and LIM.

And I am thankful AA has a soft landing, 'cause I probably wouldn't even hit GLD otherwise!

Last January 1 had 7K miles on 1 Jan and it took until July to reach EXP.

With all respect intended, no, I'm trying to see who's the fastest to PLT/EXP in 2010 travel -- which, IIRC, the qual year starts Jan 1. I was wondering who'd be the first to re-qual (yes, for 2011) in 2010 travel.

Again, ready, set, go. Let me know who's got the fastest to 100Km/Kp/Segs in 2010. A bonus shout out (or some other prize tbd) for that person who gets there. (mind you, I have nothing interesting to give as a prize)

Also,, I'd be curious to know the own money / biz-travel-money ratio of folks out there on EXP qual. I travel mainly biz-travel, so little money out of pocket. Wondering how others are for reaching EXP.

Unless there's another x2 EQM promo like this year (had two! ^), it's going to be a really bleak travel year for me. Only 13,000 measily EQMs set from 1/1~4/18/2010, one of which includes a trip to YUL in the middle of February

Similar, on my end. About 5K per month, depends on both DEQM and other promos. I think I'll end up up with about 90K unless DEQM comes or I take a MR or two.

With about 400K miles banked, I plan to travel as I am 01/07 Jan...via AAdvantage AAwards. I, too, am grateful for the soft landing.

80% own money, 20% business travel. I really need a new job that has more business travels
