Seems to be! Looks like it'll cost me ~3000 to make EXP this year. Last year, I paid $1800 for UA1k.

The only thing that's holding me back from making the purchases is RDMs: on UA I would get double for the 100k I fly this year since I'm a UA1k already. Which matters a lot to me as my partner doesn't fly often (never has had status) and I usually use my miles/status for (international) trips together.

Waiting for the DEQMs from two STL MRs to post, then will need another 9K miles to get to EXP. My girlfriend will make EXP again once her DEQMs post. We're tempted to do a couple of Europe MRs to get to 125K miles in case American offers an incentive (such as two extra VIP/system upgrades) like last year.

Got one more RT from LAX-MIA-SCL-LSC that'll put me over the top. I'll be there for 9 days. Anyone know if I can take advantage of EXP benefits on the return leg (assuming the miles post within a day or two of the outbound flights)?

Reason I'm asking - had a similar situation when I made DL Gold on an outbound leg a few years back. Called the elite line and asked them to remove and re-insert my Skymiles number, and they told me it was impossible - since I'd already begun travel, they'd have to reissue the ticket for a substantial fee. Hoping AA's system is less stupid!

Hi Everyone! New to FT but been a long time lurker. Finally felt that I should I sign up and join the conversation.

108 Segments this year and will probably finish around 120 when it is all said in done. It is great and incredibly disgusting all at the same time.

Flew my 100th segment today! I will probably end up the year with 109-110.

As an EXP, I was at 99% on upgrades too, just missing one DFW-ORD upgrade for the year. Now hoping that the SWU's will clear for the NYE trip to Paris.

Nothing said about the 125K rewards yet.
However, last year AA did say that they were reintroducing the rewards and did not specifically say 'reintroducing rewards for that year only'.
Here's hoping!!!!!

75,148 points(24,852 until Executive Platinum)
73,975 miles(26,025 until Executive Platinum)

With a couple more ORD-SFO flights and my DEQM's I think this year will be my first EXP Plat year.

With only a ORD-RDU flight booked. Still, being based in RDU means 2x EQMs so all it will take is one trip to the west coast for me to at least requalify for Gold.

Waiting for DEQM to post to hopefully make Plat for the first time. (Have another flight booked just in case I miscalculated). That's a long way for me considering back in July, I was just going to let my gold lapse after this year.

Cutoff date to calculate the YTD EQM...

By the way, I know all the people are trying to reach 100k/50k by the end of the year, Dec 31, 2010. Shouldn't AA let you do that until the Feb 28, 2011, which is the YTD membership is supposed to end, and Mar 1, 2011 is the new year to start calculating the EQMs? I looked up the FlyerGuide Wiki but it doesn't say anything like that. I do know UA/CO said specifically it's done by the end of the year, Dec 31, 2010.
