Hell no. Every now and again Shatner does a pretty good acting job (I really do love the guy, but I'm realistic). That TZ episode was one of them.

I once was sitting in 21A and saw the tech up on the wing kicking the base of the wing/plane outside of my window (we were, fortunately, still on the ground). I commented to FA that the kicking was sonewhat disconcerting. Plane was deemed unflyable. Pilot asked whether anyone remembered the TZ episode since problen was similar, which might have explained our 1-2 hour delay... This is a data point, albeit on a MD80.

Two questions come to mind. Could you really hit something firing a pistol at that range with crosswinds in excess of let's say 90 miles an hour? If you did do that, would it in any way affect your elite status, chances of future upgrades or drinks chits at the AC????????
