Deadline to buy and get the 1500 miles?
At https://www.aa4miles.com/miles4bose/
it says that Offer expires 11/14/2009
but at the FAQ it says:
14. If I don’t want to purchase the headphones today, can I still earn miles by purchasing them at a later time?
Yes. For a limited time (9/30/09 through 10/14/09) you also can earn a voucher for purchasing QC15 headphones from a Bose Store or airport kiosk. Follow the instructions on the voucher to deposit the miles into your AAdvantage® account. Supplies are limited.
From September 30 through October 14, 2009, at www.aadvantagemilesforbose.com or by calling 1-800-905-1262, you can earn 1500 miles by purchasing QC15 headphones. Supplies are limited.
and in the "terms and conditions" again it says:
Earn 1500 American Airlines AAdvantage® miles when you purchase a pair of the QuietComfort® 15 headphones at a Bose retail store or Bose Airport Kiosk, on the website www.aadvantagemilesforbose.com, or by phone (1-800-905-1262). Offer applies only to purchases of QuietComfort® 15 headphones during the promotion period. If a different product is purchase, the standard offer of 2 American Airlines AAdvantage® miles per $1 spent will be honored. This offer cannot be combined with, or exchanged for, previous offers. Other restrictions may apply. Offer valid 9/30/09-10/14/08 while supplies last.
My idea was to try them on my next visit to USA the first days of November and decide if they are better enough than my old ones to spend the $300, but don't want to loose those 1500 miles.
So for those that had the old one and tried the new, are they really better?

I know this is off-topic, so my apologies to the purists. I'm going here to follow the ongoing discussion about head- and earphones.

Thanks, did it for my account and hubby's. I wish they would have done this promo last month when we were in MCO to get the extra 350 each.

Yes, it will. It's called passive noise reduction. Probably a discussion which would better be carried out in the technology forum if you still have questions.

What people spend big bucks for is ACTIVE noise reduction (ANR)
That said. a good percentage of people won't be able to tell the difference between music from $100 headphones, versus that from $300 headphones, just as they can't tell the difference between 720p and 1080p, or the difference between a cassette tape and a cd.. Or between an audio CD and mp3.
